Education/Leisure Activities

Bridge House is very local to schools for children with special needs. Staff will liase with the schools as appropriate and attend school reviews. Travel arrangements will be considered and set up as part of the care plan. Education is viewed as an important part of a child/ young person’s development and the staff team will encourage children to develop their skills and assist with any out of schoolwork required.

Some children/young people might not be able to access the national curriculum in such situations we work in partnership with the LEA to ensure the individual reaches their full academic potential.

The staff team view leisure activities are a vital part of a child /young person’s wellbeing and work with the children / young people to plan a range of activities both inside and out of the home. The placement plan considers and includes how a child / young person is encouraged and financially supported to access leisure activities of their choice.
